Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has offered his thoughts on their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

The Midlands club had initially taken a two-goal lead with goals from John McGinn and Leandra Dendoncker.

However, a spirited second-half performance from United led to a thrilling comeback, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring twice.

Expressing his disappointment after the game, Emery stated, “After the first half, for about 60 minutes, we were in control of the game. The manner in which we conceded, with a mistake in the middle, changed the dynamics. The crowd’s energy shifted, and the atmosphere became much more favorable for them, boosting their performance as the crowd rallied behind them.”

“Even in the face of that setback, we reacted well, creating very good chances for John McGinn and Leon Bailey. These were pivotal moments in the game as well,” Emery added.
