President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Saturday participated in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in Lagos as the ruling party kicked off its nationwide exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Punch, the president and his wife cast their votes at Ward E, Ikoyi, Lagos, where party members gathered for the commencement of the APC presidential primary.
The couple reportedly arrived at the venue in a convoy and were welcomed by party supporters, security operatives and top APC officials.
Tinubu was seen interacting briefly with party members and electoral officials before casting his vote alongside the First Lady.
The exercise attracted a large turnout of APC members and supporters, many of whom gathered around the venue chanting solidarity songs in support of the president.
Security presence was also visibly heightened around the area as operatives monitored movement and maintained order throughout the exercise.
The APC presidential primary forms part of the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with voting taking place simultaneously across different states of the federation.
Video clips from the event showed Tinubu and Oluremi moving through dense crowds of party faithful dressed in traditional attire while acknowledging cheers from supporters.
