The controversy surrounding the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan from the Senate appears far from over, as the Kogi Central lawmaker has taken her case to an international platform.
Speaking at the Women in Parliament session during the Inter-Parliamentary Union Meeting at the United Nations in New York on Tuesday, Senator Natasha called for justice, describing her suspension from the Senate as “illegal.”
She urged global democratic institutions to intervene, alleging that she had been unfairly treated.
Following her speech, the senator expressed concerns for her security, claiming that “the powers that be” in Nigeria might attempt to detain her in New York for speaking out at the high-profile event.
