Video: Owambe guests treated to special ‘catfish pepper soup’ on portable cookers
Scores of guests watched in amazement as a retinue of Ankara-wearing waiters dished out what many onlookers christened as a recent innovation or upgrade to Owambe parties in Nigeria.
In the viral video, the waiters were spotted carrying hot, spicy delicacy of boiled plantain and catfish pepper soup in a clay pot, which itself was sitting on a portable gas cooker.
This was obviously done to keep the food hot.
While the surprised guests looked on, the servers picked their way across the hall and dropped the cooker on each table.
The viral clip, which has since found its way to the social media space has set tongues wagging with many alluding jokingly that Nigerians are always striving to outdo one another when it comes to owambe parties.
