Miss Nigeria Nyekachi Douglas stole the show at the Miss World event last weekend.
Though she didn’t win the Miss World crown, Douglas won the hearts of the world with her adorable reaction when Miss Jamaica was announced the winner of the competition.
The Nigerian was among the three finalists – Miss Brazil, Elis Coelho; and Miss Jamaica, Toni-Ann Singh, left on stage waiting to find out who would be crowned Miss World.
When Singh was announced the winner, Douglas erupted to cheer, she then did a joyful dance around the stage in her green gown, screaming before rushing back to hug Miss Jamaica who had actually won.
Douglas’ heartwarming reaction has since gone viral on social media, evoking a series of pleasant reactions from social media users across the world.
Some have described it as #FriendshipGoals while others are sharing the sweet moment and wishing for a friend like Miss Nigeria.
Douglas shared another video on her Instagram story on Monday which confirmed that her friendship with Singh will outlive the competition.
In the video full of sweet moments, Miss World and her entourage were seen walking up to Douglas on the street of London, an excited Miss Nigeria became a hypeman and started hailing.
Singh who seems to be shy was seen signaling to her not to announce her, she probably didn’t want passersby to know she is the newly-crowned Miss World.

I don’t know what was more satisfying, Miss Nigeria celebrating when Jamaica won or the genuine look of disbelief on Miss Jamaica’s that she won pic.twitter.com/PvExXwWQxI

Found out something really interesting. Miss Nigeria’s reaction to Toni winning is all the more wonderful when you realise that Toni is the first Black woman to win Miss World since….Miss Nigeria… In 2001. This is so nice.
