BBNaija season six ‘Shine Ya Eye’ new housemate, Angel, has opened up on how the death of her first boyfriend pushed her into depression about two years ago.
Angel who came into the Big Brother House on Sunday night made the disclosure to her fellow housemates during a brief introduction among the housemates.
The 21-year-old, according to a viral video, revealed that she has since moved on from the phase, adding that she is single now and ready to be in a relationship.
She also revealed how she dropped out of the University of Lagos two weeks after resuming as a freshman without attending a class.
She said, “My ever first boyfriend died in 2019 and it took a toll on my mental health. I started self-harming. My quest in finding a place in the world is one of the reasons I ended up here.
“His death got me and I was depressed for some time but I thank God I’m here.
“Coming to Big Brother made me realize my life is not stuck and gave me hope.”
Her emotional narrative attracted the sympathy of all other housemates who gathered around her to give her a group hug.
