VIDEO: Angry youths attack Zamfara Reps member over poor performance

A member of the House of Representatives was reportedly attacked by angry youths in Zamfara State on Tuesday following accusations of poor performance in office.

The incident reportedly happened in Dansadau, within the Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area, during a visit to the community by Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal.

A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, showed youths confronting and chasing the lawmaker out of the area. The footage was first shared by an X user, ADCVanguard, who wrote, “APC has created a Frankenstein monster that consume its creator. This is how youths chase away APC Rep in Zamfara State.”

The video sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing anger, frustration and mixed emotions over the development.

Reacting to the incident, Drizzylyk commented, “It’s encouraging to see this kind of shift in the North, people seem to be freeing themselves from their leaders’ control. Anybody wey no wan to soji, knack am kini??? Wake up!”

WakeUp said, “All those trying to shield him should chop better brushing too! That’s what these criminals deserve.”

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official reaction from the Zamfara State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, or the affected lawmaker regarding the incident.
