Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, pledging to mobilise support for his return to office in 2027. This significant move is being described as Adeleke endorses Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.
According to The PUNCH, Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday, October 14, during the inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/All Progressives Congress Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. It is clear that Adeleke endorses Tinubu through his active participation in the campaign council.
The governor expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and urged Nigerians to support his second-term ambition.
“I am the light, and the light is here. We will sing and dance back to Aso Rock after President Bola Tinubu’s re-election,” Adeleke declared.
He further called on Nigerians to support the president and pray for the success of his administration. Undoubtedly, this public show of support means Adeleke endorses Tinubu at a crucial time for the ruling party.
“I am here to throw my weight behind Tinubu’s return to Aso Rock. Let us rise from every nook and corner to support the President,” he said.
Adeleke dances with Tinubu at inauguration
Following his speech, Adeleke, popularly known for his energetic dance moves, joined Tinubu in singing and dancing, drawing cheers from attendees.
The governor entertained the gathering with his trademark dance steps, creating a lively atmosphere at the political event.
His performance attracted attention after he publicly pledged support for Tinubu despite belonging to a different political party.
Adeleke also encouraged Nigerians to remain optimistic about the president’s administration. In addition, Adeleke endorses Tinubu to emphasise unity among political leaders regardless of party lines.
“I want you to continue to pray for Mr. President because if he succeeds, we all succeed,” he stated.
APC appoints Adeleke, Soludo as campaign coordinators
Adeleke’s endorsement followed his appointment as the Osun State coordinator of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council.
The governor, a member of the Accord Party, was included in the APC’s revised campaign structure alongside Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Soludo, who belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, was appointed to coordinate Tinubu’s campaign activities in Anambra State.
Their appointments reflect the ruling party’s efforts to secure political support beyond its membership ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda disclosed that the party had approached both governors and other opposition figures to support Tinubu’s re-election.
The revised campaign council also named Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike as coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.
Tinubu will serve as chairman of the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Yilwatda as vice-chairmen.
The inauguration formally introduced the expanded campaign structure as the APC intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections.
