Popular Nigerian activist, Aisha Somtochukwu Yesufu, has slammed churches and mosques for the display of ‘religious hypocrisy’.

Yesufu vented her frustration on Sunday in an Instagram video after a church in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, allegedly blocked a section of a two-lane road during its church service.

As seen in the video recorded by the activist, a police van could be seen manning a section of the road blocked with a log of wood as the unnamed church conducted its Sunday service.

She said, “I was just coming down the road, I had to park my car, I just saw a car driving one was I didn’t realise that the other road has been blocked [because] there is a church service going on.

“There’s so much hypocrisy in this country, religious hypocrisy. Church will block road, mosque will block road, you’ll do prayers and block road yet the greatest number of corruption, injustice, bad governance, happen in the country.

“We think we can bribe God the way we’re doing bribery all the time?”
