Victor Osimhen nominated for 2023 FIFA Player of the Year award

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been nominated for the 2023 Best FIFA Player of the Year award, alongside some of the biggest names in world football.

The 24-year-old Napoli forward has enjoyed a stellar season, leading his team to their first Serie-A title in 33 years and finishing as the league’s top scorer. 

He was also the top scorer in the recently concluded African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Osimhen has a very impressive season with his outstanding performance and incredible goals for the Italian club and Super Eagle’s team

The aggressive goal poacher will face stiff competition from the likes of Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe for the prestigious award. However, his impressive performances this year have earned him a well-deserved nomination.

The winner of the award will be decided by votes from an international jury comprising national team captains and coaches, journalists, and fans from all over the world. The winner will be announced at the FIFA The Best Awards ceremony on January 17, 2024.
