Veteran actor Mr Ibu reportedly passes away at 62

Popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, has passed away at the age of 62.
The veteran comedian and actor succumbed to death at Evercare hospital, following a prolonged health battle.

Reports from close sources indicate that Mr Ibu underwent surgeries, including the amputation of his leg, and had been receiving medical attention at Evercare hospital for the past few months.

A WhatsApp chat circulating on social media, allegedly from a healthcare worker at Evercare, confirmed the actor’s demise.

Last year, Mr Ibu made headlines when news broke about his health struggles. In October 2023, he revealed in a video that he faced a potential leg amputation and pleaded for urgent financial assistance. Despite efforts to bounce back from surgery, complications led to the amputation of one leg.

Mr Ibu’s immediate family has yet to make an official statement concerning his death as at this time of reporting.
