Controversial activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of planning to frame him.

VeryDarkMan made the allegation in a video shared on his Instagram page, claiming the EFCC is targeting him because of his open criticism of the commission and its chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.

In the video, the activist revealed that a lawyer recently presented a video of him spraying money at an event to the EFCC.

According to him, the lawyer and an influencer visited the EFCC office in Abuja to discuss the matter.

“EFCC Abuja, I heard you people had two visitors today, one of them na influencer and the other one a very big influential lawyer. I know you would be wondering how I find out, but the truth is that I have informants in your office. I’m the reason why they came. They brought one or two clips about me and a picture of where I was spraying money. They said this is an opportunity for you to go for VeryDarkMan,” he said.

He further claimed that an EFCC officer confirmed that he is on their target list due to his frequent remarks about the commission.

“And the officer they spoke to also said ‘yes, VeryDarkMan has been coming for us, he speaks about our Oga and has been talking to EFCC rudely.’ So you people’s interests aligned, and you people are teaming up for VeryDarkMan. And I heard that you people are trying to frame VeryDarkMan,” he added.

The EFCC has not yet responded to the allegations.

VeryDarkMan has gained popularity for his outspoken views on social issues and often uses his platform to criticize public figures and institutions.
