Unknown gunmen suspected to be members of Indigenous People of Biafra on Thursday stormed Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Eyewitnesses said the gang vandalised some vehicles in the process of hoisting a Biafran flag in the area.

The Anambra Broadcasting Service reported that the attack took place in front of First Bank branch where the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to disperse customers and passersby, LIB reports.

According to the ABS report, the assailants numbering about ten drove in black Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle.

The attackers who hoisted the Biafran flag at the gate of the bank, later set fire on a Nissan Pathfinder SUV with registration number UR 640 KJA, and smashed the glasses of a Honda car with registration number FST 456 AC, all parked in front of the bank.

It is not clear if anyone sustained gunshot injury, however, normal human and vehicular movements continued after the gunmen left.
