Popular celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has turned 30 in grand style, celebrating with a record-breaking 20-foot-tall birthday cake, which Nigerians are calling the tallest cake in Africa.

The celebration, held on Monday, was one of the most talked-about events in Nigeria’s entertainment space. One of the major highlights was the stunning 30-tier cake, each layer representing a year of her life.

The cake was baked and decorated by Naomi’s Cakes and More. According to the baker, it took 18 hours to complete the masterpiece, which was covered in flowers and glowing yellow lights.

The cake reportedly cost around ₦18 million and has now taken over social media, drawing praise and reactions from fans, fellow bakers, and celebrities.

“This is a masterpiece,” commented eloxevents.

“The cake is giving royalty,” added peventndglams_academy.

“Cake massive pass wedding cake,” joked queendebby91.

Though many celebrated the size and cost of the cake, others had mixed views.

“This girl does too much… which kind drama be this one again?” starsksss commented.

“Guess the cake should be given to the community,” laincherry_added.

The cake has drawn comparisons to the one made for Nigerian socialite Bobrisky’s 33rd birthday, a ₦8 million Mercedes-Benz-shaped cake that also went viral last year. But Veekee’s 30-tier design has now raised the bar in Nigeria’s celebrity party scene.

While the tallest cake in the world remains a 108-foot cake made in Indonesia in 2008, Veekee James’s birthday cake is being hailed as one of the biggest and most expensive ever made in Africa.

Naomi’s Cakes and More has since received waves of applause from fellow bakers across the continent.

“Showstopper,” rellascakes wrote.

“Take your flowers,” enkaydaf_kitchen posted.

“Odogwu baker of Benin City!” wrote aisedomcakes tagging Naomi’s Cakes and More.

“This is massive,” added classycadcakes.

As social media continues to buzz, one user summed it up simply: “She knows the showbiz game well. Kudos.”
