Controversial social media figure, VeryDarkMan, has slammed music promoter Soso Soberekon over a proposed boxing match between him and singer Portable, calling the offer “a big insult.”
Soso had offered N120 million for the bout between the two, following their recent online fight. But VeryDarkMan, in a video shared on Instagram Sunday night, said the amount was too small and showed “no respect” for his worth.
“Make I quickly respond to Soso Soberekon for this disrespect,” he said in the video. “What I’m about to say now, you confirm it from Tunde Ednut because my phone is with EFCC.”
He claimed he once turned down a $100,000 offer to fight American rapper 50 Cent in 2024.
“It was supposed to be the biggest event in Africa. 50 Cent asked for $2 million upfront out of \$5 million, but they wanted to give me only $100,000. I said no. I asked for $1 million. Tunde Ednut followed the process, and you can confirm it from the president of the boxing federation, Omo-Agege,” he said.
VeryDarkMan said he also got another offer earlier in 2025 after returning from China, but rejected it because it was also too low.
Turning back to the current issue, he said, “Now, let’s go back to Soso Berekon. It is disrespectful to say you won carry me now go fight for as low as N100 million. Do you know how much I don take do charity this period? What is N100 million?”
He added, “N100 million cannot even buy you a good house in Abuja. Soso, you are very very disrespectful, forget about age. If you want me to fight, bring \$500,000 first before we talk about the balance. But I doubt if you get that kind money.”
He warned Soberekon to stop putting his name in the news. “If dem dey respect you, respect yourself Soso. If you don’t have that money I talk, please don’t put my name on your page again,” he said.
