Van de Beek gives verdict on Manchester United teammates
Donny Van de Beek has expressed delight at the warm welcome he received from his new teammates at Manchester United.
The 23-year-old joined United from Ajax for £40m and has featured for his new side in a friendly against Aston Villa.
In an interview with MUTV, Van de Beek appreciated the opportunity given to him to make an impact in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
He said: “Everyone has helped me a lot and wanted to make me feel at home and this is really good for me and it has given me the confidence to play.
“I cannot wait to play many games with them.
“There are a lot of young players in the group, around my age, and I think this is a really big opportunity for me to help the team.”
The Dutchman who is likely to make his debut at Old Trafford this weekend said that he can’t wait for fans to return to the stadium.
“Old Trafford is an amazing stadium,” he added.
“The nicest thing will be when the fans are there too and I cannot wait to play for the first time in front of them.
“I hope to see them soon in the stadium because for our team they will give us a lot of power when we can have them with us.”
