A woman from Florida, United States has been charged with threatening a health insurance company by repeating words engraved on bullet casings found at the scene of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder.

Briana Boston, was arrested after allegedly threatening her health insurance provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield, during a phone call about a denied medical claim.

According to local Police, 42-year-old from Lakeland made a statement during the recorded conversation, saying, “Delay, deny, depose. You people are next.” This phrasing closely resembles words linked to a recent high-profile case involving the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Earlier this month, bullet casings found at the scene of Thompson’s shooting were engraved with the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose.” These phrases mirror the title of the 2010 book *Delay, Deny, Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don’t Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It* by Jay Feinman, a legal scholar and insurance expert. The book critiques insurance practices that allegedly avoid paying legitimate claims.

When confronted by the police, Boston reportedly apologized and admitted she used the words because they were “in the news right now.” She also told officers that she does not own any guns and is not a threat but expressed her frustration, stating, “health care companies deserve karma” and calling them “evil.”

Boston was charged with making threats to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism and was booked into a jail in Polk County.
