The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has said a Nigerian national, Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, is in its custody and will be deported following a final removal order.

ICE made this known in a statement shared on its official X account on Monday, where it described Ijaoba as a criminal illegal alien with a record of violent crimes in the United States.

According to the agency, Ijaoba entered the US illegally and later became involved in several serious offences.

“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and former member of the Bloods, a notoriously violent street gang,” ICE said.

The agency explained that Ijaoba was once a member of the Bloods, a well-known street gang linked to violent crime, drug trafficking and armed robbery across parts of the US.

ICE listed his criminal convictions to include aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction, drug sales and escaping from police custody.

“He entered illegally and then racked up an extensive rap sheet,” the agency stated.

ICE said the convictions led to a final order for his removal from the country.

“He has a final removal order and awaits deportation in ICE custody,” the statement added.

The agency did not disclose when the deportation would take place but said it remains responsible for enforcing the removal order.

ICE regularly releases details of non-citizens with criminal records who are facing deportation as part of its immigration enforcement operations.
