US rapper Travis Scott arrested for intoxication, trespassing
American rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday, June 20, following an argument on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida.
Scott, 33, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was booked at 4:35 a.m. in Miami-Dade County on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. He was held on a bond totaling $650, which had been paid by Thursday.
According to Miami Beach Police, officers were called to the Miami Beach Marina at 1:44 a.m. after reports of a fight on a yacht. They found Scott “yelling at the vessel occupants.”
The arrest affidavit stated, “The defendant was asked by officers to sit down, at which point [he] temporarily sat down and then began continuously standing back up, disregarding officers’ commands. Throughout the interaction, officers on scene could sense a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant’s breath.”
The complainant did not want to press charges but requested Scott leave the yacht. Despite being told to leave, Scott returned about five minutes later, causing a disturbance. Police noted, “[Scott] walked backwards, yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel.”
Scott was arrested and taken to the Miami Beach Police Department. He later admitted to drinking alcohol, stating, “It’s Miami,” police reported.
Sources close to the incident told PEOPLE, “There was no physical altercation with anyone. This was a rowdy party and Travis was already bailed out for a few hundred dollars. He is already home.”
Scott has had previous legal issues, including arrests for inciting riots at concerts in 2015 and 2017, and the tragic Astroworld Festival in 2021, which resulted in 10 deaths.
However, a Texas grand jury decided in June 2023 not to pursue criminal charges against him for the Astroworld incident.
Scott is currently on the European leg of his Utopia-Circus Maximus Tour, with upcoming performances in the Netherlands on June 28 and 30.
