President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the 2024 United States. presidential election, making him the 47th President of the United States.
According to Fox News projections, Trump claimed victory in the 2024 election by defeating Democrat Kamala Harris.
His supporters celebrated the news early Wednesday at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, where Trump appeared with Vice President-elect JD Vance and his family. “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” Trump told the crowd.
Tinubu extended his good wishes on Wednesday through a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In his message, Tinubu highlighted his hope for stronger ties between Nigeria and the United States, saying, “Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens.”
Tinubu’s statement acknowledged Trump’s previous experience as president, noting that his return to the White House could create positive and beneficial partnerships between Africa and the United States.
