US partners NCDC to conduct household survey on Covid-19 infections

The United States and Nigeria’s Centres for Disease Control are to conduct a household survey to determine the extent of coronavirus infections in Nigeria.

People in four states including the biggest city, Lagos, will be asked if they wish to volunteer in the research which will include an antibody blood test to find out who has had the virus.

The exercise aims to help health professionals understand the transmission patterns and to find out how many people with the virus have shown no symptoms.

As of yesterday, the NCDC recorded a total of 125 new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC’s breakdown,  Lagos recorded 37 cases,  Plateau-18, FCT-17, Ogun-15, Rivers-10,Benue-7, Kaduna-7, Anambra-5, Oyo-3, Cross River-2, Ondo-2, Edo-1 and Imo-1.

As at the time of this report, there are 57,849 confirmed infections and 49,098 discharged patients in the country.

So far, Nigeria has recorded a total of 1,102 deaths relating to complications from the deadly virus.
