A Las Vegas judge was viciously attacked in the courtroom by a felon during a sentencing hearing on Wednesday.

The assailant, identified as 30-year-old Deobra Redden, leaped over the bench, assaulting Judge Mary Kay Holthus after his request for probation was denied.

The chaos erupted at Clark County District Court during Redden’s sentencing for felony battery. Redden’s attorney had appealed for probation, but Judge Holthus remained firm in delivering the sentence.

The situation escalated when Judge Holthus made a comment about Redden needing to “get a taste of something else.”

In a dramatic turn of events, Redden propelled himself over the bench, launching a surprise attack on the judge.

The courtroom descended into chaos as multiple individuals, including a bailiff, rushed to intervene and subdue Redden.

Despite the tumultuous scuffle, sources reported that Judge Holthus, while having hit her head, was ultimately alright after the ordeal.

The assailant, who had a history of run-ins with the law, faced charges of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm.

Redden had previously been before Judge Holthus, facing charges related to the destruction of property and serving a prison term for domestic battery.
