The United States White House Historical Association has built a newly opened replica of President Joe Biden’s office for visitors.
The full-scale replica, complete with all the details from Biden’s desk to the armchairs and his family Bible, is part of an attraction called “The People’s House: A White House Experience.”
President of the White House Historical Association, Stewart McLaurin, which is behind the project, shared that this replica will change with each new president. “When Biden’s successor takes office next year, the full-scale replica Oval Office will be redecorated to look exactly like the new president’s office,” McLaurin explained.
One exciting feature of the exhibit is that unlike the actual Oval Office, visitors can sit in the president’s chair behind the desk. “A terrific thing about this Oval Office, unlike the current Oval Office, is if you’re visiting us you can come and you can sit in this chair and be the president of the United States,” McLaurin said while giving a tour.
Another part of the experience is an “Immersive Theater” that uses technology to recreate various famous rooms in the White House every five minutes.
The new attraction opens to the public on Monday, offering a unique, up-close look at one of the most famous offices in the world.
