Update: ‘Gbagada hospital didn’t demand police report to treat OAU graduate stabbed by robbers’
Fresh updates have emerged over the death of Moradeun Balogun, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), who died from injuries after she was stabbed by robbers in Lagos.
WuzupNigeria reports the lady’s death and circumstances surrounding her death sparked outrage on Twitter on Tuesday.
One Ikeoluwa Fasipe (@ik3oluwa) and other social media users had taken to Twitter to share the lady’s story alleging that R-Jolad hospital in Gbagada should be held responsible for Moradeun’s death because the hospital refused to treat her when she was rushed there.
Fasipe claimed the hospital had demanded a police report before attending to Moradeun, the demand according to her led to the lady’s death.
In a twist, another Twitter user had debunked Fasipe’s claims, saying the hospital did not demand any police report from the victim before attending to her.
@Fimiletoks, who said he had spoken with the MD of R-Jolad Hospital, took to Twitter to react to the outrage sparked by claims that Moradeun was neglected by the hospital until she died.

He wrote:
“I just spoke to the MD of R-Jolad, he told me clearly that nothing of such happened. The hospital never asked for a report. The hospital carried out their assessment and referred. The assessment and referral was quick and she got to Gbagada in good time unfortunately she passed.
“He also told me that his treatment reports for several gun shot cases he has treated are available for scrutiny so why would he ask for a report for a stab wound in a 37 year old hospital. Can you please come out and substantiate your claims? Who gave you this report?
“Where (sic) you present at the scene? Who did you speak with and where did this story originate from?”
Corroborating the post, another Twitter user who claimed his brother worked at the hospital, wrote:
“My junior brother is working in that hospital but not on duty… Immediately I read about it yest I ask him Y can’t they save the lady life first before requesting for police report. This is what he send to me for clarification of what happened.”
