A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday has ordered the detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the facility of the Department of State Service facility, pending the outcome of his trial.
This followed the rearrest and arraignment of Kanu in court on Tuesday.
Justice Binta Nyako gave the order after counsel for the Attorney General of the Federation, Shuaibu Labaran, told the court that the defendant, who jumped bail, had been arrested and produced in court.
Nyako, who granted the plea, ordered the DSS to inform Kanu’s lawyers of his detention and adjourned the case to July 26, 2021.
