A 23-year-old British Nigerian man identified as Seun McMillan reportedly collapsed after walking into Barnet Hospital, London on Tuesday night suffering from several stab wounds.
According to the police who formally identified the deceased on Friday, he was believed to have been stabbed in a street in Southgate and that a “number of people” would have witnessed the attack.
Circumstances surrounding the deceased’s death are still unclear to the police.
According to UK news site, Standard, the police were alerted earlier before stabbing after an argument broke out “over money” between a group of young men gathered in a nearby park.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Watling, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, also told the news site that the police currently believes Seun was stabbed in Cowper Gardens, in Southgate, and at that time there would have been a number of people there that had attended in cars.
“We are keen to speak to everyone who was there, and would appeal for them to contact us. We would also appeal to anyone who saw what cars were in Cowper Gardens at the time of the incident to also contact us,” Watling said.
Seun’s cousin, who did not wish to be named also told the Standard that his cousin was just so bubbly, he is just a normal guy and he didn’t deserve what happened. He wasn’t supposed to be there.
“The last time I saw him at the park we were playing football, he loved it and played centre back. I have no idea what happened to him,” he said.
Police in the city has issued a request to the public that anyone with useful information about the incident should contact them immediately.
