A photo of the president of Zambia, Edgar Lungu in which a minister, identified as the Minister of Livestock kneels down before him has surfaced online.
A description of the photo says it was Lungu scolding the minister for a reason not given.
The 60-year-old president assumed power in January 2015 after serving as Minister of Justice and Minister of Defense under the country’s late president Michael Sata.
Lungu’s journey to become president started after Sata died in October 2014 and the ruling Patriotic Front adopted him for the January 2015 presidential by-election, which was to determine who would serve out the remainder of Sata’s term. He won the election by a narrow margin to become president. He won a reelection in 2016 and has remained in power since.
It is not clear when and where the photo was taken but the president was seen on a seat in a place that looked liked an office.
Meanwhile there are other other presidents who have received such veneration from high officials in their government.
