A serial sex offender has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences against two women.

Victor Komolafe, 35, was handed an eight-year-and-11-month prison sentence at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday. The sentence follows his conviction earlier this year on four counts of sexual abuse.

The conviction was secured through the Metropolitan Police’s V100 programme, an initiative that uses intelligence and data analysis to identify the 100 offenders considered to pose the greatest threat to women and girls in London. The programme targets suspects using strategies adapted from counter-terrorism policing to remove high-risk offenders from the streets.

Komolafe was found guilty of one count of attempted rape, one count of sexual assault and two counts of assault by penetration. The offences involved two victims who did not know each other.

Police first arrested Komolafe in August 2023 after allegations of sexual assault were made against him. During the investigation, he denied the claims, insisting that the encounter had been consensual and initiated by the complainant.

A month later, in September 2023, a second woman reported allegations of sexual abuse involving Komolafe, describing conduct of a similar nature.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Komolafe concealed his true identity from victims by using aliases including Ghost and Xavier, while withholding details such as his real name and address.

Despite his efforts to evade detection, investigators used forensic evidence to connect him to the offences. Detectives discovered Komolafe’s semen on clothing belonging to the second complainant, contradicting his denial of the assault.

Evidence presented during the investigation also revealed that Komolafe used controlling tactics against his victims, including depriving them of food and water in order to weaken and incapacitate them. The second complainant further stated that some of the sexual offences took place inside a vehicle owned by Komolafe’s partner.

One of the victims urged others who may have suffered at Komolafe’s hands to come forward and report their experiences.

“He won’t be able to hurt you now. Try and find strength to do that. It’s not right to let people like him to get away with crimes like this,” they said.

In a further statement, the victim encouraged survivors of sexual offences to report incidents to authorities, “even if you’re not sure.”

Komolafe has been placed on the sex offenders register for life and is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The V100 programme continues to identify and pursue high-risk offenders across London. Since its launch in 2023, a total of 208 individuals on the programme have been convicted as of the end of April.

Detective Constable Jo Cheung and Helen Cordes, who worked on the case, praised the victims for their courage in assisting the investigation.

They said in a statement: “Komolafe would hide behind a guise of familiarity and friendship with his victims; this enabled him to exploit his formed connections and target these women for his abusive crimes.

“The bravery of both victims coming forward emphasises their strength of character, and their willingness to speak out against abusers such as Komolafe.

“Their courage and determination enabled our investigation to achieve the justice they desperately deserved”.
