Chelsea midfielder, N’golo Kante, has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their Champions League group game against Juventus.
Kante who had only recently returned for injury would not be available when Thomas Tuchel’s side head to Turin to continue their title defence on Wednesday.
The European champions have now confirmed Kante has gone into self-isolation following his positive result.
Kante, 30, will also miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Southampton.
“N’Golo, unfortunately, tested positive and he needs to quarantine and follow the government protocols. He was not in training today,” Tuchel said before the squad departed for Turin.
The German tactician will also face the Old Lady without Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Reece James who picked up an ankle injury during Saturday’s loss against City.
“Christian, Reece and Mason are out,” Tuchel added on Tuesday.
According to Tuchel, James will be out of action for at least a week.
“It’s still very painful. It will come down to pain management in the end and how much he can accept.
“Right now we are looking at a minimum of one more week.”
