Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has advised women experiencing unhappy marriages to prioritise their wellbeing. She said they should also recognise when a relationship is no longer healthy, echoing her Uche Ogbodo marriage advice on self-care.

The actress said marriage should be built on mutual respect, faithfulness and shared responsibility. Instead, some expect that one partner must tolerate unacceptable behaviour. This is one of the key points in Uche Ogbodo marriage advice.

According to The PUNCH, Ogbodo made the remarks during an interview with Saturday Beats. In that interview, she discussed fidelity and emotional abuse in relationships.

“I am an advocate for 50-50 in marriage. If you want me to be faithful to you, stay faithful to me,” she said. Uche Ogbodo marriage advice frequently centres on equality and mutual faithfulness.

The actress challenged the idea that men could justify infidelity while expecting their partners to remain faithful.

She also encouraged women to understand their personal boundaries and identify behaviours they were unwilling to accept.

“If you love yourself enough and know what your deal-breaker is in a relationship, and your wants and needs are not being met, then what are you doing in that relationship?” she asked.

Ogbodo further warned that abuse should not be understood only in physical terms. She explained that emotional and psychological mistreatment could also damage relationships. Therefore, following Uche Ogbodo marriage advice could help women navigate these issues with greater awareness.

She, however, acknowledged that many men remained disciplined and committed to the responsibilities of marriage.

The actress maintained that women should not feel compelled to remain in relationships that consistently undermine their dignity and wellbeing.
