The United Arab Emirates has cancelled the three months tourist visa for Nigerian passport holders after the arrest of five Nigerians for robbery in Dubai.
According to Africholiday, Nigeria passport holders are no longer eligible to three months UAE tourist visa. They are now restricted to one month, 96 hours and 48 hours UAE tourist Visa till further notice.
This development comes after five Nigerians were arrested in Dubai for robbing a bureau de change and making away with Dh 2.3 million Dinars in Sharjah area of Dubai.
The five suspects who were on visitors visas to Dubai include Chimuanya Ozoh, Benjamin Ajah, Kingsley Ngoka, Tochukwu Alisi and Chile Ndunagu.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a statement by her media aide, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, on Tuesday in Abuja condemned the action of the Nigerians.
According to the police, the men barged into the exchange and smashed the glass barrier between the customers and the staff, stole the money in multiple currencies and fled.
