Two pilots, two others die in Zimbabwe helicopter crash
No fewer than four lives were reportedly lost in the Zimbabwe helicopter crash on Friday.
Confirming the development, the Air Force of Zimbabwe disclosed that the helicopter crashed into a house, killing two pilots and a technician as well as a child on the ground.
According to PUNCH, the accident happened in the village of Arcturus which is around 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of Harare.
“The helicopter crashed into a house and sadly claimed the lives of two pilots and a technician as well as a child on the ground,” the Air Force of Zimbabwe said.
The child’s mother and another young girl were rushed to hospital with burn injuries, it stated.
Report said the Air Force lost contact with the helicopter was lost after it took off from Zimbabwe’s Manyame Base in Harare.
A search and rescue team was sent to locate the aircraft which wreckage was eventually found.
The AFZ added that the cause of the accident would be investigated while funeral arrangements would be made for the deceased.
