Two persons have been shot and killed by armed robbers who operated at a roadblock on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja Expressway on Saturday.
This led to many motorists abandoning their vehicles on the road with commuters seeking safety in near bushes.
The two persons killed by the armed robbers are said to be siblings.
The incident was confirmed by the police spokesman, William Aya.
Also, an unspecified number of people were abducted after gunmen attacked Banigo Isile-Ogono community in Bonny council area of Rivers State.
The gunmen who stormed the community after one Kenneth Banigo was interred, left many wounded as they fired shots.
Bonny council chair, David Irimagha, and some lawmakers were able to escape the incident.
Confirming the incident, police spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, said that the gunmen fled the scene on sighting law enforcement agents.
