Two in court over alleged theft of four pumping machines

The Police in Osun on Monday arraigned two persons in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft of four pumping machines.

The defandants: Hammed Hazeez, 30, and Joshua Adekunle, 36, committed the alleged offence on April 6.

The Prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the defendants committed offence at 3:04 a.m, along Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo.

Fagboyinbo said Hazeez and Adekunle conspired to steal four pumping machines belonging to one Atanda Kamal.

He said that Adekunle received the stolen property from Hazeez, knowing that they were not his own.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 516 , 390 (9) and 427 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 , Laws of Osun, 2002 .

The defendants pleaded not guilty, while their counsel, Mr. Najite Okobie , prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms.

The Magistrtate, Mr. O. Daramola , granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 and two sureties in the like sum and adjourned the case until May 25 , 2022 for hearing
