Two aides killed as Jonathan survives Abuja road accident

No fewer than two aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan have died on Wednesday after his convoy was involved in a fatal car accident in Abuja on Wednesday.
The PUNCH reported that the former president had left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for his residence in Abuja when the crash happened.
One of the vehicles was said to have over sped and rammed into another around the Bill Clinton Drive area of the Federal Capital Territory around 4:30pm.
Although the ex-president was safe and unhurt in his own car, two others who are police officers were seriously injured and rushed to the National hospital.
The Federal Road Safety Commission Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the report, adding that the injured are responding to treatment.
Kazeem said, “It was is convoy. Nothing happened to him and his car is not involved in the accident. The vehicles in his convoy had a bash and two died, two are at the national hospital and are recuperating. Seven cars were however involved in the accident.”
The Public Relations Officers of the National hospital in Abuja, Tayo Haastrup, also confirmed the incident.
He said, “The former president was not involved it was one of the convoy. We have two of them and they are stable.”
