Twitter users demand refund from Davido as ponzi scheme, Racksterli, crashes
Nigerian tweeps have called out Afropop star Davido after Racksterli, a suspected ponzi investment platform he backed, allegedly crashes.
Though the ‘FEM’ crooner doesn’t appear to have a share in the scheme, he had been seen in viral videos promoting the platform, prompting some people to invest.
In his words he said, “I wanna introduce you guys to one of the biggest investment platforms in Nigeria. There are a lot of opportunities over there… It has been very very reliable for the past six months we’ve had great recommendations…”
However, months after, Racksterli website has reportedly crashed, leaving investor due for payment stranded.
The scheme’s official Twitter handle, @Racksterli, which has a following of 29.1 thousand last tweeted five days ago, without a mention about an upgrade on its site or lack of access.
WuzupNigeria dug further and discovered an individual that prides himself as Racksterli’s CEO (the only account the scheme follows on Twitter) and noticed that he (@blackgoldtwitt) last tweeted in January.
Our team reached out to him via his account but WuzupNigeria is yet to get a response.
This would be the second time Racksterli would be crashing, recall that there was a similar occurrence in 2019/20.
Although some had their capital refunded, some who were at the withdrawal stage were left in the desert, leaving Nigerians to question the legitimacy of the scheme.
Nigerians have however turned to Davido after Racksterli’s latest alleged crash for promoting the scheme.
At the same time, investors are calling in Racksterli to refund their capital.
@Oluwafifehanmi wrote: “Dear Davido, we invested our hard earned money on Racksterli because we believed in you, please call Black Gold immediately and let him return all our capital immediately #Racksterli #Return our capital.”
@Joe_praise22 added, “I don’t want to believe @davido would like to engage himself with anything that’s not legit. I’m due for payment since on the 6th of March. But I’ve not seen anything o. Just story upon story. #Racksterli.”
“@davido i did racksterli because of the advert i saw @Racksterli1 it will never be well wit you if you don’t pay us our capital. I was supposed to be paid since 21th till now i haven’t seen anything. Wo let me nor say you’ll use that your new motor to get another accident,” @Evagold26222931 said.
