Pastor Tunde Bakare’s declaration that he would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari as the 16th President of Nigeria has sparked criticisms among Nigerians on social media.
WuzupNigeria reports that the Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly had said in a viral video where he was ministering at his Lagos Church that nothing could change it because he was born for that purpose to be president.
He claimed he had been prepared by God for the plum job for more than 30 years.

His declaration sparked a series of reactions on social media on Monday as Netizens take to Twitter to lambast the preacher.
While some compared Bakare’s declaration to the words of serial presidential aspirant Pastor Chris Okotie of the Household of God Church, who contested for president severally over claims that God told him he would be Nigeria’s president. Some Netizens are, however, of the opinion that Bakare would make a good president.

This Reno is an alarmist, Pastor Bakare has been saying he is the 16th President of Nigeria even before 2015 general elections. So what he said severally before now has nothing to do with Osibanjo. https://t.co/YLMqFbDNmP

I’ll prefer Pastor Bakare any day in place of Jagajaga or his houseboy, StarBoy. Jagajaga is for me, a NO NO. He will just organise & sell Nigeria to the highest bidder, pocketing the proceeds. Ole.

How many times has Pastor Bakare seen himself crowned Nigeria’s president now? He must realise at some point there’s a disconnect with his dealer.

I refused to believe that Pastor Bakare just said that for saying sake… Anytime the government want to do something stupid, they brought up something that’ll divert our attention on the social media. Think!!! pic.twitter.com/i5tGV80hRI

There is a thin line between Pastor Bakare & Pastor Chris Okotie. With the usage of “NOTHING can change it” thereby ascribing the status of a god, we await his downfall. https://t.co/cK7IqhmoG9

Can someone confirm if Latter Rain Ministry had their holy communion today?
Probably the wine used for the holy communion Pastor Bakare took was exchanged for Vino tinto. Or one of his boys in the protocol unit has mistakenly added canabis to his drink.— Revolutionary Duru Chibuzor eric (@DuruchibuzorE) September 22, 2019
