Twitter users divided over Seyi Shay’s scathing criticisms of talents on Nigerian Idol
Seyi Shay’s style of criticism as a judge on Nigerian Idol audition has once again come under scrutiny.
The singer-songwriter currently trends on the micro-blogging platform.
Her (in)discretion to talents’ performances has left Twitter users divided with many wondering whether she still deserves to be on the panel.
The ‘Yolo Yolo’ singer, who is one of the judges on season 6 of the Nigerian Idol show, has been seen on several occasions in the show last night and in previous editions criticising young talents for their performance during the audition.
The controversial panellist has been captured using demoralising expressions like:
“Who told you to come and audition, somebody lied to you, somebody told you to come here and audition…
“You have a sweet-talking voice and it comes out in your singing voice but your performance, terrible. You’re never going to make money being a singer.”
“You should try dancing, but music, no…”
At some point, she has had to walk out on a contestant, saying;
“…I can’t deal abeg”
However, Twitter users are currently divided over her style. While some are quick to throw the artiste under the bus, some hail her for being harsh and direct.
