Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has issued a stern warning to Nollywood actors, particularly those in the Yoruba film industry, to stay away from his wife, Ashabi Simple.
Ashabi, a Yoruba actress and one of Portable’s baby mamas, has been in the spotlight following the recent scandal involving actors Baba Tee and Ijoba Lande.
The controversy began after actor Ijoba Lande accused his wife, Darasimi, of infidelity, claiming she had been involved with at least 21 men in the industry, including Baba Tee.
Baba Tee later admitted to having a brief encounter with Darasimi during a game of ‘Truth or Dare,’ but she denied the claim, saying she only sat on his lap.
Reacting to the situation, Portable took to Instagram to call out Baba Tee, questioning if such behaviour was common in the Yoruba film industry.
“Is that how you people behave in Nollywood? If anyone tries this with my wife, the person will die. Why would you do something like that?” he warned.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner also stated that while men who engage in such acts are at fault, the women involved should bear the greater blame.
“The person who slept with someone else’s wife is not entirely at fault; the woman should be blamed. Don’t you know that such acts bring setbacks?”
Portable further urged Baba Tee to desist from such behaviour, saying he was advising him out of love.
Meanwhile, Baba Tee claimed he had been set up and was under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened.
“I took two shots of alcohol and was tipsy. I didn’t know she was Lande’s wife. If I had known, I wouldn’t have done it,” he said.
He further alleged that some people in the industry were out to ruin his career.
“They have been trying to take my life for a long time. I was set up, and this is part of their wicked plans.”
