A motorcyclist, whose name could not be immediately ascertained, was on Friday crushed to death in a road accident that occured in Gbongan, Osun state.
The deceased travelling along Gbongan/Ife expressway, was said to have wrongly overtaken a truck, which caused the crash.
Apart from the victim who died, two other people involved were not injured.
Spokesperson for the Osun command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, while commenting said the accident occured around 4:40pm.
“The accident occurred along Gbongan-Ile-Ife road. It was caused by wrongful overtaking. It involved Iveco Eurostar Truck and a Jincheng motorcycle.
“The motorcyle wrongly overtook the truck. One person, a male was killed but two other people involved were not injured.
“The family of the deceased took over the remains of the victim, while the vehicle involved was taken over by NPF Gbongan,” Ogungbemi concluded.
