A truck, ferrying a tractor, has reportedly crushed a taxi in Nyanja, Abuja and killed a yet-to-be-identified woman.
The incident happened on Wednesday at 9.40 am after the truck developed a brake failure at Mogadishu Barracks heading out of the Federal Capital Territory, several kilometres before it came to a stop.
It was gathered that the truck with registration number KSB379XA (Kwara) plough through multiple vehicles before coming to a halt at Nyanya bus stop.
The deceased, a woman who appeared to be middle-aged, was sitting in the passenger seat of the parked taxi, which was the last affected vehicle, and died on the spot.
The driver of the taxi was pulled out of the mangled car and rushed to the hospital.
The driver of the truck was said to have abandoned it and taken to his heels.
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps [FRSC] and police have since arrived on the scene.
