Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued two people from suspected terrorists along the Anka-Gadan Manya Road in Zamfara State. This incident is another example of a Zamfara terrorist attack that has recently affected the region.

According to The PUNCH, the rescue occurred after troops on routine patrol encountered armed men. The men were attacking two people travelling on a motorcycle, which highlights the reality of Zamfara terrorist attacks in rural areas.

Soldiers force attackers to flee

A security source said the soldiers intervened immediately after spotting the attack, which can be linked to preventing further Zamfara terrorist attacks.

“The troops were on routine patrol when they spotted armed terrorists attacking two people travelling on a motorcycle,” the source said.

“The soldiers immediately moved in and engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee and abandon the victims.”

The two victims were subsequently rescued and taken to safety.

Patrols intensified

Security forces have increased patrols along the Anka-Gadan Manya axis following the incident. As a result, authorities hope to reduce the risk of another Zamfara terrorist attack in the area.

The operation is aimed at preventing armed groups from moving freely around communities and roads in the area.

Zamfara remains one of the states affected by banditry, kidnapping and attacks on rural communities. Security agencies are conducting continuing operations against armed groups.
