Troops rescue 52 kidnapped victims in Sokoto
Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation HADARIN DAJI, have successfully rescued 52 kidnapped victims in a well-coordinated operation in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
This operation was part of the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism through a series of clearance operations in their Areas of Responsibility.
In an official statement shared on its X account, the Army reported that the rescue mission took place on December 22, 2023, as the troops cleared and destroyed terrorist enclaves at Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA.
The statement reads, “During the operation, the troops of the OPHD rescued 52 kidnapped victims while several terrorists were neutralized. The rescued victims include 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children who will undergo a medical check-up, debrief, and handed over to appropriate authorities to reunite them with their families.”
