Troops kill six insurgents, recover arms cache in Borno
The Nigerian Army says the troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, have eliminated six suspected terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in recent encounters in Borno State.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Nwachukwu said that the troops of the 25 Brigade, had on Wednesday, neutralised four terrorists of the Islamic State West Africa Province, terrorists who were on espionage on Damboa-Bulabulin- Maiduguri road.
He said that the terrorists ran into a fighting patrol team at Kukawa and were neutralised in the firefight that ensued with the troops.
