Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two suspected armed robbers and rescued a kidnapped woman during separate security operations in Mubi North and Hong Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.
The incidents were disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on his X handle, citing information from security sources.
According to the post, the first operation took place at about 2:30 a.m. on January 29, after troops responded to a distress call from the Barama community in Mubi North LGA.
Makama reported that soldiers quickly moved to the location and apprehended two suspects who were allegedly trying to rob a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, in the students’ village.
“In the process, one of the suspects was shot in the thigh while attempting to confront the troops and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, for treatment. The suspects have been handed over to the police for further action,” the report stated.
Security operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including three cutlasses, two laptops, four mobile phones and a power bank.
In a related development, Makama said that at about noon on January 28, troops working alongside local vigilante members carried out a fighting patrol along the Amtasa–Washim axis in Hong LGA. During the patrol, the team reportedly encountered terrorists and engaged them in a firefight, forcing the assailants to retreat.
The operation resulted in the rescue of a woman who had been abducted by the terrorists, as troops conducted a sweep of the surrounding area. Items recovered during the operation included one AK-47 rifle with registration number 2056792, two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one sub-machine gun rifle and 42 rounds of ammunition.
