US RnB singer, Trey Songz gas announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 35-year-old singer broke the news in a video shared on social media on October 5.
“Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19,” he shared.
“I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course, I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it, unfortunately, came back positive.”
He revealed that he will be ‘self-quarantining … until he sees a negative sign.’
“I will be taking it seriously,” he continued.
“I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign.”
He noted that one out of 1000 black people have died of the virus which has infected 7.5 million people in America.
Trey Songz added, “My grandfather passed away early this year and while it wasn’t said that it was COVID, I do believe it was; so, I’ve always taken it serious.’
Advising his fans, he said, “If you come in contact with COVID, please do the same, please do the same – don’t be like the president.”
