Transfer: Trippier fancies Manchester United move
Atletico Madrid right-back, Kieran Trippier, is keenly interested in a switch from Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid, to Premier League runner-up, Manchester United, this summer.
The Mirror reported that the England international who lifted the La Liga title with Madrid last month has reportedly told his England team-mates of his desire to return to the Premier League to join the north-west side.
Sky Sports also believed that the former Tottenham Hotspur wing-back who has one more season left at Spain keenly being monitored by united who are seeking competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
United are hoping to raise between £15million and £20m to convince Atletico to release the 30-year-old who arrived at Madrid from Tottenham in 2019 and is under contract at the Spanish club until 2022.
British media reports that Atletico are keen to keep hold of Trippier, whose appearances for the club in the title-winning campaign triggered a one-year contract extension which binds him to the club until 2023.
In another development, Marca has announced that the Spanish side is interested in Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin – who is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, as a replacement for Trippier.
