TRANSFER: Odion Ighalo joins Saudi club Al Hilal

Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has left Saudi Arabian clubside, Al Shabab for Al Hilal on Saturday.

The former Manchester United forward left Old Trafford for the Saudi Professional League on a two-and-a-half-year contract on 4 February 2021.

Ighalo who withdrew from the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations squad before the tournament kicked off in Cameroon has now signed a one year deal with Al Hilal.

Earlier, respected Italian Sports Journalist, Fabrizio Romano, reported that the Nigerian reached an agreement with the Saudi club until 2023.

The 32-year-old was signed as a replacement for Bafétimbi Gomis who left the Saudi club.

Romano tweeted, “Al Hilal are set to sign former Watford and Man United striker Odion Ighalo.

“Agreement reached on personal terms, contract until June 2023. 🇸🇦🇳🇬 #AlHilal Final details and the official announcement in place. Ighalo will be Al Hilal replacement for Gomis.”

However, Al Hilal confirmed Ighalo’s signing by welcoming the Nigerian to the club on their official Twitter handle on Saturday evening.
