Less than ten days before the Edo State governorship poll scheduled for September 28, 2016, the Enogie of Eyaen, His Royal Highness ,Osazuwa Iduriase, has predicted who will win the poll.

According to the monarch, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Godwin Obaseki will be victorius come that day.

Iduriase disclosed this when he received the Obaseki Campaign Organisation for royal blessings in his palace in Benin, the state capital.

The‎ team was led by the Director-General of the organisation and Commissioner for Works, Osarodion Ogie.‎

The monarch, who spoke in Bini dialect, however, dismissed reports in the social media that he allegedly drove Obaseki out of his palace.

‎The traditional ruler described the reports as lies, adding that he was in the United States of America, when he received the false information.

“We have a problem with (the) social media because so many lies are being peddled there. I got a call that I drove Obaseki from my palace.

“How can someone outside the country be at his palace at the same time? That was why I said (that) when I come to town, I would see you personally,”‎ he said.

This is coming after a socio-cultural group, Nedoghama Nedo, endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to win same poll.

‎The group, comprising chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, traditional priests, business owners and professionals, announced the endorsement after a meeting in Benin, the state capital.‎

The Eson of Benin Kingdom and one of the leaders of the group, Chief Amos Osunbor, explained that, having assessed Ize-Iyamu and Obaseki, members of the group were convinced that the PDP candidate had the capacity to take the state to the level desired by its citizens.
