Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, was in Lagos on Monday for the official launch of the Federal Government Trader Moni scheme.
Osinbajo who was accompanied by Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited Ketu, Oshodi and Bariga markets in Lagos state.
The excited traders all trooped out en masse to welcome the VP and his entourage who interacted with them.
According to reports over 1.1 million Nigerians including market women, traders, artisans, farmers are currently beneficiaries of GEEP, which comprises FarmerMoni, MarketMoni and TraderMoni.
The initiative was launched under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) in partnership with the Bank of Industry.
